Note reading

Eight bars, printable, with a name-and-date line. The answer key is built in the browser rather than served in the page, so a class with a phone cannot read it off the source. Every sheet is a seed: hand one link to a room and everybody gets the same twenty notes, ask for a new sheet and nobody has seen it before.

note names

Name each note. Nothing moves by more than a third, so the reading is of the position, not of the leap.

ledger lines

The notes above and below the staff, where most readers stop being fluent.

steps and skips

Seconds and thirds only, so the eye learns the two shapes it will see most.

intervals on the staff

Pairs of notes to be named by the distance between them, written as they would appear in a part.

accidentals

Sharps, flats and naturals that the key signature did not put there, and that last to the end of the bar.

sight-reading melodies

Eight bars to be played through once, without stopping. The shape is a melody: it leaves the tonic and comes back to it.

Blank paper instead

If what you want is empty staves rather than exercises, that is a different section — eight kinds of paper, four counts and four page sizes, drawn at print size in millimetres.
